A Family Owned Vacation Cabin Getaway!
Grab a Bite to Eat
There are hundreds if not thousands of great places to eat in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. Obviously, we can't review them all, but here are a few places we like to eat when we are in town.
Little House of Pancakes - Just a small local breakfast diner on the East side of Gatlinburg on 321. Really good pancakes, great local atmosphere without the "chain" feel. There literally may be 1000 pancake houses in the area, this is our favorite so far, and just 5 minutes from the cabin! - littlehouseofpancakes.com - Click here for map
Hungry Bear BBQ - Again, a small local restaurant. Not a lot of seating inside, but great for takeout. You can always see the smoke when driving by on 321, smells fantastic! They have 2 locations, one close to downtown Gatlinburg, and another also on 321 out by Pitman Center - hungrybearbbq.webs.com - Click here for map
Bennetts Pit BBQ - This is more of a "chain" type tourist BBQ restaurant, but give credit where credit is due. The food here is pretty good. There are often long wait times when we've tried to go. The Gatlinburg location also has a connected Big Daddy's Woodfire Pizza now, which has decent pizza. - www.bennetts-bbq.com - Click here for map
Mellow Mushroom - It wouldn't be fair if we didn't at least mention Mellow Mushroom Pizza. We have one locally where we live and this is just one of our favorite places to get pizza anywhere. It's a bit of drive from the cabin, located in Pigeon Forge, but if you are already there it is very reliable good food. There is one on the main strip in Gatlinburg as well, but it has always been VERY busy and parking is difficult in that area, so we head to Pigeon Forge - Click here for map
